20 Crossover Comic Battles Fans Want To See (And Who Would Win)

Fight of the Fandoms

Whether you prefer DC or Marvel, or even Vertigo or Image comics, fans are eager to defend their favorite heroes and villains. The fact remains that plenty of these characters have a lot in common and seeing them go toe-to-toe would put the rivalry to rest. With that in mind, here are 20 crossover battles fans often fight about, as well as who would likely win.

1. Superman Vs. Omniman Vs. Homelander

It seems there’s a new Superman-equivalent popping up every year. The current most popular iterations are undoubtedly Omniman from Invincible and Homelander from The Boys. This fight is pretty clear. Homelander would lose immediately as he’s never fought with an experienced supe at his level. That leaves Omniman and Superman, who are both aliens with impressive powers. Unlike Clark, Nolan has received plenty of combat training and comes from a ruthless world. However, with the sun in the backdrop, Superman would likely win due to his proven strength and resilience.

2. Batman Vs. Ironman

Both are billionaires with access to high intellect and plenty of toys. They could probably go toe-to-toe for a while if both of them were suited up in their preferred armor. However, given prep time and a heads-up, Batman would likely sneak up on Tony when he’s least prepared. The last thing you want is Batman on your tail.

3. Wonder Woman Vs. Thor

With connections to the gods, both Wonder Woman and Thor are seasoned warriors. On one hand, Thor can summon lightning, while Diana has the deflective bracelets and far superior speed. This is a hard one to pin down. However, since Diana has some of Zeus’s blood running through her, she’ll probably be just fine against a little lightning.

4. Hulk Vs. Doomsday

Both of these characters are known to power-scale to no end. Hulk hits harder the angrier he gets, while Doomsday becomes stronger after every defeat. However, since Hulk is likely smarter and a bit more aware than the mindless Doomsday, he should be able to come out on top.

5. Green Arrow Vs. Hawkeye

Both of these guys do exactly the same thing. How does a fight between two archers that never miss even go? That means we’ll have to judge them on factors outside their marksmanship. It really is a flip of the coin.

6. Deadpool Vs. Harley Quinn

As fun as it would be to see these two fight, since they’re both ruthless mercenaries with quite the mouth and antics for goofiness, the conclusion is pretty clear. One of these characters is effectively immortal, the other isn’t.

7. Catwoman Vs. Black Cat

This is another coin-flip one, as the two characters are very similar. However, Black Cat has beaten Spider-Man-level villains in the past, and Catwoman prefers to avoid and evade rather than engage. Of course, if the boyfriends are involved, this story ends on a completely different note.

8. Constantine Vs. Hellboy

Constantine is the quintessential demon hunter with one foot in the occult. Meanwhile, Hellboy is a manifestation of Hell itself. The two of them are more likely to put the weapons down and go for a smoke instead, but if push came to shove, Constantine would win simply because he’ll be able to cast a spell that subdues or banishes Hellboy.

9. Vision Vs. Martian Manhunter

Martian Manhunter is undoubtedly one of the physically strongest characters in DC. Plus, he’s able to shapeshift, read minds, and phase through things. Meanwhile, Vision is able to keep up, is immune to telepathy, and can tank blows with little reaction. Plus, if Vision gets his hands on some fire, Martian Manhunter’s done for.

10. Winter Soldier Vs. Red Hood

The battle of the abandoned sidekicks! Both of them have taken hard hits for their heroes. When it comes to strength and speed, the two are quite evenly matched and take advantage of a little armor here and there. So this fight would be more so based on skill and gear. With Batman as his mentor, Jason has access to some pretty impressive toys and is an adept tactician and detective.

11. Flash Vs. Quicksilver

Sorry, but any comic book enthusiast knows there is no competition here. It doesn’t matter how fast Quicksilver runs, the Flash has access to the Speed Force and can literally reverse time running backwards.

12. Dr. Strange Vs. Dr. Fate

The battle of the doctors! Both of these heroes have access to a mystical force and are quite adept sorcerers. However, it’s worth remembering that Dr. Fate is basically an avatar for a literal god, while Dr. Strange is a regular man with access to supernatural power. Unfortunately, Dr. Strange is also an inconsistent hero, so it really depends on his version. However, in most cases, the god helmet wins.

13. Aquaman Vs. Namor

Interestingly enough, these two have fought in a comic before. This means Namor has been proven to be physically stronger than Aquaman. However, Arthur’s access to the sea and the creatures that live in it give him the advantage, as he was able to win the fight by summoning a whale.

14. Captain America Vs. Soldier Boy

Returning to the terrifying world of The Boys, Soldier Boy was undoubtedly inspired by Captain America. Both are military soldiers with shields frozen in time. However, the fact that Soldier Boy is able to go nuclear certainly doesn’t help the Captain’s case. The real question is if Captain America can block a nuclear explosion with his shield.

15. Daredevil & Elektra Vs. TMNT

Putting just Daredevil against the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles doesn’t seem fair, so let’s give him Elektra to even things out. All six of these characters are trained ninjas with heightened senses and experience. However, the turtles have the power of cartoonish logic on their side, meaning they’ll likely win.

16. Spawn Vs. Ghost Rider

Both of these characters were brought back from the brink to exact revenge and do a dark lord’s bidding. So who would win? Well, since Spawn has literally gone toe-to-toe against the forces of Heaven and Hell and succeeded, he definitely has the edge. Plus, Spawn has more combat experience as a military man.

17. Spider-Man Vs. Invincible

Shifting to the world of Invincible, there’s something familiar about the bright-eyed and hopeful Mark Grayson that reminds us of Peter Parker. But who would win in a fight? While Invincible is technically working his way to becoming a Superman equivalent, he is relatively inexperienced. This means Spidey could likely swing webs around him without breaking a sweat.

18. Scarlet Witch Vs. Zatanna

The comic version of Scarlet Witch stood no chance against Zatanna. However, things change. The MCU has definitely given Wanda a power-up, as she is now able to manipulate the very fabric of reality. This means Zatanna would likely be defeated before she even had a chance to speak.

19. Dr. Manhattan Vs. The Sandman

This is an odd matchup for sure, but both of these characters are known for their impressive power-scaling. Both are also considered gods on their world, one more literal than the other. However, despite Manhattan’s omnipresence and ability, Dream will live on until the last dreamers pass. It probably wouldn’t be a traditional fight, but Dream would come out on top.

20. Green Lantern Vs. Silver Surfer

This is another fight that actually played out in comic books and Silver Surfer won. The fight was pretty anti-climactic, as the two rammed into each other at full force and Kyle Rayner ended up unconscious. It is what it is.
