1. Harry Potter

It's safe to say everyone hoped for a letter to Hogwarts when they turned 11 years old. This amazing universe, thanks to the amazing writing of J.K. Rowling, quickly became one of the biggest franchises in the world. The books, the movies, the actors, every aspect of the Harry Potter universe became so incredibly beloved and popular.

2. Star Wars

Thanks to its incredible world-building, Star Wars is arguably one of the biggest, if not the biggest fandom in the world. It's become more than just a movie franchise, it's a pop culture icon. So many things are inspired by this unique universe, it's insane to think about the impact it's had on people.

3. Lord of the Rings

We'll never be unamazed by the imaginative mind of J.R.R. Tolkien. How he managed to create such a fantastical, well thought out world is beyond us. With mythical beings, lovable characters, magic, and beautiful environments, Lord of the Rings completely captivated readers and movie goers alike.

4. The MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe)

Thanks to the amazing performance of Robert Downey Jr. in the first Iron Man movie, the Marvel Cinematic Universe was born. With 34 films in their collection and numerous new TV shows too, Kevin Feige was able to bring every comic book fan's dream to life.

5. The DCEU (The DC Extended Universe) 

And if we're giving Marvel a shout out, of course we have to give some props to the DCEU too! As Marvel's biggest competitor, these two comic book franchises continue to duke it out, giving comic book fan's everything they've always wanted. Home to Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, the DCEU continues to grab the attention of fans around the world.

6. Star Trek

Not to be confused with Star Wars, Star Trek has its own mega fandom that shouldn't be overlooked. This beloved science fiction franchise is home to several movies, TV shows, books, video games, you name it. It's pretty amazing how old this fandom is and how it's still going strong.

7. Doctor Who

As the longest airing science fiction television show in history, we're not surprised Doctor Who has got a massive fanbase behind it. With the main doctor switching out every couple of seasons, it keeps things exciting and fans interested. Looks like they found the recipe for success early on!

Is there even a need to say it? Pokémon is without a doubt one of the biggest, most successful franchises in the world. With numerous TV shows and movies under its belt, it's even more known for its fun video games and collectible cards. What can we say, Disney magic is real! Advertised as the "happiest place on Earth", it seems like more than just a couple of people believe it. We can't create a list of the biggest fandoms in the world without including some anime/manga! As one of the highest rated animes ever, Attack on Titan wowed audiences with its stunning animation and complex storyline. If you've never heard of BTS, you must be living under a rock. As the biggest k-pop boy band alive at this time, BTS took the world by storm and we don't see them stopping anytime soon. Often dubbed the female BTS, BLACKPINK's influence on pop culture can't be dismissed. As the most popular k-pop girl group, they continue to dominate the charts and win over fans' hearts. Despite only having been released about 4 years prior, this gacha game has become one of the biggest games in the whole world. Genshin Impact is absolutely everywhere. Most people love it for its amazing graphics and art, while others love the fun gameplay and gacha genre. It's quickly skyrocketed to become one of the largest fandoms to exist right now.
