10 Pokémon No One Likes & 10 That Are Everyone's Favorites

Some Pokémon Deserve More Love

Did you know that there are a total of 1,025 different Pokémon as of 2024? That's a whole lot! Despite there being so many, there are a few that garner the most attention, as most things do. But how they're recognized can be for good or bad things. Today, let's talk about the top 10 most loved and most disliked Pokémon out there. Which ones do you agree with and did any of your favorites make the list?

1. Unown

Out of all the amazing Pokémon there is to choose from, Unown, unfortunately, takes a backseat. Weak in battle, strange-looking, and simply plain, this is one Pokémon that is frequently listed as one of the worst ever made. To put it bluntly, Unown is just kind of useless!

2. Magikarp

While yes, Magikarip evolves into a pretty awesome water dragon, this evolution stage is pretty underwhelming. Any Pokémon gamer can relate when we say, "Splash, really"?. When it comes to battle, this Pokémon definitely doesn't have your back.

3. Burmy

All you need to do is a quick search online to see how many haters Burmy has. This Bug type Pokémon certainly has a large fan group - but for all the wrong reasons. Not only do people claim Burmy is ugly, but they also point out how boring and bland the design is.

4. Dunsparce

If there's one love it or hate it Pokémon out there, Dunsparce might make the top of the list. The biggest argument for why everyone dislikes this Pokémon? Apparently, Dunsparce is just lame. At least Magikarp evolves into the powerful Gyrados! Turns out this Normal type Pokémon truly is as it describes - normal.

5. Silcoon

This spiky little Bug type Pokémon has garned a lot of hate over the years. Why? From bad design, no personality, to just being overall boring, it'd be very surprising to find a Pokémon lover who has Silcoon as their favorite. Most just treat it as a stage they have to get over if they want the next evolution, Beautifly.

6. Cascoon

And if Silcoon is one of the most hated Pokémon, you shouldn't be surprised to see Cascoon making this list too. Are they even different Pokémon? For all we know, they're the same thing just different colors! Though they both do evolve from Wurmple, we would've liked to have seen more creativity between Cascoon and Silcoon. Because one of the biggest reasons people hate on the two is because they're essentially the same.

7. Eelektrik

There seems to be a general consensus that Eelektrik is pretty creepy-looking.

But to be honest, that's not the main reason no one talks about this Pokémon. In short, just no one ever remembers it exists! This Electric type Pokémon flies completely under everyone's radar. In fact, many people online call it a "throwaway" given its position in the evolution line.

8. Gumshoos

It's sometimes hard pinpointing what it is about a Pokémon that makes it so unloved, but with Gumshoos, we sadly think it has to do with its appearance. After all, with that familiar looking yellow tuff of hair, creepy smile, and overall strange design, it's safe to say it's not powerful enough to make up for its looks.

9. Stunfisk

While yes, this is another unattractive-looking Pokémon that definitely doesn't get much attention for its looks, Stunfisk seems to be disliked for another reason too. Many players seem to argue that it's a trollish Pokémon that is difficult to play against.

10. Vanilluxe

Well, we hate to say it, but people hate Vanilluxe because it's essentially just two vanilla ice cream cones stuck together. Food and Pokémon mixed together? Why? Many seem to be confused by this strange design choice. It simply didn't resonate with fans at all.

1. Charizard

If there's one Pokémon that stands out above the rest for being super powerful, cool, and having a great design, it's Charizard. After all, who doesn't love a fierce dragon?

2. Pikachu

Without Pikachu, we strongly believe the Pokémon universe would not have been as popular as it is now. As the face of this brand, this adorable Electric type Pokémon has won over the hearts of many thanks to the hit TV show. The relationship between Ash Ketchum and Pikachu is what truly started it all and led to the massive fanbase it has now.

3. Snorlax

As the most relatable Pokémon there is, Snorlax has its own fanbase for sure. This adorable sleeping Pokémon is truly all of our spirit animals. It has nothing to do with its battle skills, how cool it is, or even how it looks; honestly, we just love how much it sleeps.

4. Eevee

Cute factor is definitely something to consider when looking at the popularity of a Pokémon. And when we're talking about cuteness, Eevee probably dominates the list. This adorable, furry Pokémon is loved by everyone. It's not just its appearance though; people appreciate the many different evolutions that stem from Eevee. From Sylveon to Umbreon and Leafeon, this is one special Pokémon!

5. Mewtwo

As one of the most powerful Pokémon to ever exist, it's not hard for fans to appreciate and love Mewtwo. After all, this is a game centered around skill and power, so why wouldn't you want this one in your deck?

Not to mention, people just love the design and how charismatic and powerful it looks. Mewtwo doesn't necessarily look flashy by nature, but his skills and abilities sure are!

6. Dragonite

Turns out not all dragon Pokémon in this world have to look menacing and overwhelming. Dragonite is the perfect example of dragon meets cute and cuddly. And if we're being honest, that's mainly the reason why people love it so much. It just looks like the perfect cuddle buddy!

7. Squirtle

As one of the OG three, Squirtle will always be a favored Pokémon. Not only is Squirtle absolutely adorable, but this Water type Pokémon also evolves into Blastoise which is another favorite. Great in battle, cute in looks, and with a fun personality too, there's no reason why this Pokémon would ever get any hate.

8. Lucario

Strangely enough, for Lucario, everyone always comments on the cool, dark vibe this Fighting/Steel type Pokémon gives off. People absolutely love the way martial arts is incorporated into the design, almost as if Lucario is just made for the coolest scenes. For those who love Pokémon with sheer power, this is the most common favorite.

9. Bulbasaur

Not only does it have a cute name, but it looks adorable too!

As one of the 3 original starter pack Pokémon, Bulbasaur will forever live as a favorite. After all, if Squirtle and Charmander (Charizard) are on this list, of course this Grass type Pokémon is too! With useful skills like Poison Powder and Sleep Powder, don't underestimate this little guy's strength.

10. Gengar

This Ghost/Poison type Pokémon sure made waves with the crowds. A little bit unexpected, Gengar consistently ranks high on the list of most beloved Pokémon. While some might think he looks a little creepy with his red eyes and mischievous smile, many others find it endearing and give the character a lot of personality. Not to mention, it sure is a nostalgic Pokémon for many who have been around since the beginning!
