Throwback to the Glory Days of Facebook
Remember when Flash games on Facebook were all the rage? When you'd rush home after class just to log in and water your crops in FarmVille? Those were the glory days. But while it's a real bummer we can't relive them since Flash games became defunct, that doesn't mean we can't reminisce! So: from Pet Society to Miscrits, here are 20 old Facebook games we all used to play after school.
1. Pet Society
Developed by Playfish and released on August 8, 2008, Pet Society was one of the most popular games on Facebook, and one many regularly logged in to play after school. The game revolved around taking care of customizable pets, and players were able to visit their friend's pets as well.
2. Restaurant City
Another game by Playfish was Restaurant City, and this was just as addictive to play as Pet Society. The main objective of Restaurant City was to gain popularity, attract more customers, and level up your restaurant. You were also able to visit your friend's restaurants and interact with them.
3. Jetman
Jetman was a side-scrolling game where players were required to guide a—well, pixelated man wearing a jetpack, through a maze of obstacles. Simple as its gameplay was, it was highly addictive and became the reason many students lost sleep.

4. FarmVille
Developed by Zynga, FarmVille held the number one position for most popular games on Facebook for two years after its launch in June 2009. Similar to other agriculture simulation games, players could cultivate their own farm such as harvesting crops and raising livestock.
5. Mafia Wars
If you ever wanted to see what it was like to be in a mafia, then you probably played Mafia Wars immediately after coming home from school. Also developed by Zynga, the game allowed you to build your own organization, complete jobs, and rob other players.
6. PetVille
If you ever played both Pet Society and PetVille, you would've probably noticed the similar gameplay between both right away. After all, PetVille (made by Zynga) was nearly identical to Pet Society, where you can raise a pet and visit your friends. It came down to preference which appearance you liked playing with more.
7. Happy Aquarium
Forgot dogs and cats, what about fishes and other water creatures? Well, that was why most turned to Happy Aquarium, which was developed by CrowdStar and released in 2009. Not only could you raise fish, you were also able to decorate your aquarium tank.
8. Wild Ones
Developed by Playdom, Wild Ones was a multiplayer, arcade-shooter game that was made available to play on Facebook, Google+, and MySpace. Its gameplay was inspired by the 1995 video game, Worms, which also involved defeating the opponent and becoming the last one standing.
9. YoVille
Originally developed and released by Big Viking Games (then known as Tall Tree Games) in 2008, YoVille was a virtual world where players could create an avatar and buy homes, adopt pets, socialize with others, and more. It was briefly acquired by Zynga from 2008 to 2014, though ownership would eventually go back to Big Viking Games and be rebranded as YoWorld.
10. Zynga Poker
Unsurprisingly, Zynga Poker was developed by Zynga, and its gameplay simulates a social gaming environment where players participate in Texas Hold 'Em Poker. Players could enter the lobby and pick any table to play at, or join their friends for a round.

11. Ninja Saga
Ninja Saga was made by Emagist Entertainment Limited and was released in 2009, made available to play on Facebook, MySpace, and Orkut. A casual roleplaying game, it was largely inspired by the hit anime and manga series Naruto, adopting similar elements.
12. ChefVille
ChefVille was another one of the many "ville" games developed by Zynga and was released in 2012. The objective of this game was similar to that of Restaurant City, though perhaps what made it stand out was the ability to introduce your own recipes to the game.
13. Café World
Also made by Zynga was Café World, which launched in 2009. It garnered 8 million players in just seven days, making it the fastest-growing social game ever. The main goal was to complete catering orders, and Zynga often held challenges for users to win prizes, such as a trip for two to New York City.
14. Candy Crush Saga
Before Candy Crush Saga was available to play on mobile, it was all the rage on Facebook. Developed by King and released on April 12, 2012, it's a tile-matching game with a skeleton that's fairly similar to Bejeweled Blitz, where you can earn power-ups and climb levels.
15. The Sims Social
Developed by Playfish and Electronic Arts (EA), the Sims Social was a social simulation game that took place in a fictional town called Littlehaven. Players could create their own avatars and interact with their Facebook friends, as well as create relationships to be publicized on the platform.
16. Tetris Battle
Released in 2010, Tetris Battle was similar to Tetris Friends, where players can compare their high scores with friends. But Tetris Battle was more heavily focused on one-on-one matches, and you could challenge your friends or other opponents to play.
17. Treasure Isle
Treasure Isle was another game developed by Zynga, released in 2010. Players could create and customize their own avatar, and then set out for the game's main objective: find lost jewels and treasures by exploring different islands.
18. Nightclub City
Because after coming home from school, what was the first thing that sprang to mind? Homework? No. Making a cool club, obviously. Nightclub City offered just that, and it's no wonder why it was one of the most popular games on Facebook.
19. Miscrits
Developed by Broken Bulb Games and released in 2011, Miscrits was another classic game we all loved to play on Facebook back in the day. Its gameplay involved collecting creatures, much like Pokemon, where players can catch and battle monsters.
20. CityVille
Launched in 2010, CityVille was another Zynga production, and involved creating a virtual city and developing it into a large metropolis. Players could also visit their friends' cities, give gifts, and help them achieve their goals, which was another main objective of the game.
